The digital industry from the Central and Eastern European countries presented the CEE Digital Trident Award for the first time. It went to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov. He was honoured for his exceptional achievements regarding the country’s digitalisation in a time of ongoing war, as well as introducing new technologies and his is efforts to raise the level of digitalisation of Ukraine.

Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transformation, was awarded the first CEE Digital Coalition Award, for his input into his country's digital transformation. The award was presented on 13 October at the CEE Digital Summit 2022 in Warsaw.

- I am honoured to be awarded the first CEE Digital Trident award. It is extremely important, especially for me and my team that the region and the world today recognise the efforts for digital transformation and the development of digital resilience during the war in Ukraine – Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov said in a special message during the conference in Warsaw.

-The year 2022 is one of the most difficult times for our country. The brutal and unlawful attack by Russia against the citizens of Ukraine continues. From the very first days of the war, we knew that we could only win with the help of modern technology and innovation. We are dealing with the first-ever digital war - we are able to repel 99% of Russian cyber attacks every day - he added.

Michał Kanownik, the President of Digital Poland Association, which represents the Polish digital industry, noted that Ukraine has made a huge progress in the country’s digitalisation, especially in the context of the ongoing war. – Our neighbour shows us how to change the country in challenging times, and how to create friendly digital solutions. Keeping up to date, using the potential and being able to introduce tested solutions is the key to digital transformation success  - Kanownik said.

The CEE Digital Trident Award is presented by the CEE Digital Coalition. The award recognises the figure whose contribution to the digital economy’s development within the CEE region in the past 12 months was most significant.
